The Economic and Community Development Department (ECDD) has just completed its celebration of National Community Development Week from April 11th to April 15th. The Department oversees Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds that support and stimulate our community through various organizations, programs and initiatives.
At the Commission meeting on Tuesday, April 12, Mayor Lester Miller presented a proclamation recognizing ECDD for its work and celebrating National Community Development Week in Macon-Bibb. You can read this proclamation here. During this same meeting, Principal Wanzina Jackson and Deputy Principal Charlotte Woody gave a presentation on all the ways these funds work to help those with low to moderate incomes in our community.
“We are proud to work with so many community organizations aimed at improving the quality of life of our citizens,” said Wanzina Jackson, Director of Economic and Community Development. “Community Development Block Grants provide funding for public services, housing, educational initiatives, programs for families, and more.”
