Dickey Announces AD Associate for Compliance

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State Director of Athletics Jeramiah dickey announced on Thursday the hiring of Nathan Burk as the Broncos’ associate athletic director for compliance.

Burk will oversee the Broncos’ compliance office and be part of the department’s leadership team, in addition to managing the cross country and men’s and women’s track and field programs as the Senior Sport Administrator.

“I am delighted to add Nathan to our management team,” said Dickey. “He’s a leader, he has extensive experience in college athletics and his blue collar and team first mentality will fit well into our department. I look forward to having Nathan, Jen and their four children – Brynlee (11), Hudson (9), Olivia (6) and Madison (2) – in Boise. “

Burk had spent the previous four years as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Administration at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where he assisted with the executive direction and strategic planning of the Vaqueros athletic department. . In addition to the compliance office, Burk also oversaw the department’s bodybuilding and fitness and sports medicine teams, and was the athletic program administrator for both men’s and women’s tennis.

Prior to joining the UT Rio Grande Valley team, Burk served as BYU’s Director of Compliance for over three years. He oversaw all aspects of compliance for the Cougars’ football, softball and golf and men’s and women’s tennis programs. He has also worked to educate student-athletes, coaches, staff and boosters on institutional, conference and NCAA rules and regulations.

Burk joined BYU staff from Utah, where he served as deputy director of compliance for two years. In this role, he oversaw all recruiting activities, assisted with all waivers, investigations and interpretation requests, and was involved in other compliance matters for student-athletes, coaches and staff.

Burk began his career as a compliance intern at American University in the 2011-12 academic year.

A native of Farmington, Utah, Burk received his JD from American University Washington College of Law in 2012, his BA in French from Utah in 2008, and an associate degree from Dixie State in 2006.

Burk’s start date is slated for October 29, 2021.
