Elevé Dance Boutique brings a niche to our community

CASPER, Wyo – As we dust off the COVID cobwebs, I’m sure you’ve noticed the many local businesses in town. Dani Hamilton, owner of one of these local businesses, said: “There is a strong push to buy local again. This can be seen in Casper’s ever-growing expansion of local stores and restaurants.

But what do you do when you need a specific clothing or footwear niche? Do you usually shop online and are hoping to find the right size? How about starting your own business and selling these items to others who might have the same problem? Well, that’s what Hamilton decided to do when she opened Elevé Dance Boutique.

On October 4, 2017, Elevé Dance Boutique opened in downtown Casper, filling a specific niche in our community to sell dance wear and dance shoes. As they are about to celebrate their fifth anniversary, I wanted to talk with them about how this interesting company came to be.

When I asked her why she opened the dancewear store, Hamilton said, “It’s all my son’s fault. Her son loved to dance and embarked on a dancing career many years ago. However, they could never find dance shoes (especially pointe shoes) that fit her.

Pointe shoes are a special form of dance shoe that allows the individual to tiptoe for ballet. Man, doesn’t that sound like pain?

With all the hassle of traveling elsewhere to buy dance shoes or try to try on online (this might never work), Hamilton decided to open his own store. Elevated Dance Boutique is looking to fill a roll that the Casper dance community desperately needed.

She stocks all kinds of dance products to meet your needs. If you are a dance guru, you may be familiar with some of these brands “Capezio, Bloch, Body Wrappers, Eurotard and Sansha”.

After surviving a tough year with COVID-19, the dance community is in full swing. Hamilton says they had to close last year from around March to June, but business has been booming ever since.

Hamilton says, “The best part is watching the little ones [little kids from around the ages of two to five] get their first pair of dancing shoes… They love to spin.

Her store is designed to supply every dancer. Most importantly, she offers dance wear for boys, girls, men and women, regardless of their age.

Whether you are looking to shop in the dance niche or just try a local store, Elevé Dance Boutique is the place to stop. You can find them at 156 E Midwest Avenue.
