Masks, shots an easy way to protect the community

Thank you to the newspaper for keeping us updated on the COVID pandemic in Maine. The local Sunday newspaper article was a powerful reminder of the importance of continuing to protect ourselves and each other from this dangerous virus (“Maine’s long-distance COVID patients face a ‘constant battle “”).

It is close to home for many of us; a neighbor next door has died of COVID. The personal stories of the “long haulers”, of people who were fortunate enough to survive the infection, were very moving.

Wearing a mask in indoor public places is an easy way to protect ourselves, our loved ones and all members of our community from the dangerous and nasty new delta variant.

If you haven’t already, please get vaccinated, which has been shown to be safe for millions of Americans, and wear a mask indoors in public places. Be careful and be well.
