OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G now becomes stable OxygenOS 12

After a few weeks of beta testing, OnePlus is ready to roll out the stable OxygenOS 12 update for the Nord CE 2 5G. The phone originally launched in February with OxygenOS 11.3/Android 11 and will receive another major OS update after that (the company has also committed to 3 years of security patches).

In addition to all the new features of Android 12, this update (version C.05) also includes the new features of OnePlus as well as the July security patch. Below is the complete changelog of the new version:

  • Optimized desktop icons with improved textures, using a design inspired by new materials and uniting lights and layers
  • AI System Booster optimized to 2.1 to keep the system running smoothly even under high load
  • Optimized software algorithm and improved facial recognition to better identify features and skin color of different figures

  • Newly added three adjustable levels, bringing more personalized and comfortable user experience

Shelf

  • Newly added styling options for maps, making data content more visual and easier to read
  • Newly added access to OnePlus Scout in Shelf, allowing you to search multiple contents on your phone, including apps, settings, media data, etc.
  • ewly added OnePlus Watch Card in the shelf, easy to check your health status

work-life balance

  • Newly added Work Life Balance function, allowing you to effortlessly switch between work mode and life mode via quick settings
  • Newly supported automatic work/life mode switching based on specific locations, Wi-Fi network and time, also bringing custom app notification profiles based on personalization

Gallery

  • Newly supported switching between different layouts with two-finger pinch gesture, smart recognition of best quality images and cropping thumbnail according to content, making gallery layout more enjoyable

DOA Canvas

  • Various newly added line styles and colors, for a more personalized lock screen experience with inspiring visuals
  • New multiple brushes and strokes and color adjustment support

To install the update, make sure your Nord CE 2 5G has at least 5 GB of free storage and a battery charge of 30% or more. Note that you might not see the update immediately as it is being rolled out gradually. It is currently only available to a small percentage of users and will expand over the next few days.
