LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – Police are investigating the death of a 3-month-old girl in Las Vegas.
According to the Clark County Coroner’s Office, Majesty Laster died on November 25. Additional details of the girl’s death were not disclosed.
Malcolm Laster, 28, has not been charged in infant death, but faces charges related to the death of a French Bulldog. An arrest report linked to the charges shows that officers investigating child abuse and neglect attended Laster’s apartment in the Northeast Valley on November 25:
On November 25, 2021, at approximately 7:03 am, “Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) patrol officers and detectives assigned to child abuse and neglect retail responded to Eagle Trace Apartments at 5370 E. Craig Road… refer to an investigation. into a deceased infant, ”according to this report.
Laster’s relationship with the child has not been disclosed and police documents do not reveal whether the child was in the apartment when police arrived.
Additional information on the child’s death and the findings of child abuse and neglect investigators have not been released, but 8NewsNow is pursuing another report which may contain details.
The investigation into the death of the dog and into a dog breeding operation which produced poor sanitary conditions inside the apartment began after the officer’s first visit to the apartment. The French Bulldog and her puppies were taken in for veterinary care on November 25, but the dog, named “Gigi”, died, along with one of the puppies.
After Animal Control determined that neglect played a role in the dog’s death, Laster was arrested on December 16. In addition to a charge of willful / malicious / mutilating / murdering a dog, Laster also faces a charge for failing to register as a sex offender on a previous conviction.
Laster is not currently in custody, prison records show.
